With a study from Cornell University, the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University and NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies predicting that the U.S. Southwest has a 99% chance of a mega-drought lasting decades, officials worry that the devastation wrought by the fall wildfires could be eclipsed by future blazes.
