As California Forests Heat Up, Birds Are Flocking To Higher Ground


An environmental scientist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife warned that birds which scatter seeds that give rise to new trees in forests and help keep forests healthy by eating insects that spread tree-killing diseases are moving to higher altitudes as temperatures warm, reducing a forest's ability to regenerate after wildfires.
