Australian scientists' efforts to tame lightning could reduce number of bushfires


In a new study published in the journal Nature Communications, researchers at The Australian National University and the University of New South Wales, Canberra have developed a system called a 'laser tractor beam,' which has the potential to control the path of lightning as it comes to earth, redirecting it away from flammable vegetation.
