Wet Conditions Delay Wildfire Detection


In a new study published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, researchers showed that moisture conditions of fuel following storms that sparked wildfires delay detection of those blazes, wetter conditions tending to cause “holdover” fires that take days to detect.
