Wildfire risk for global wildland–urban interface areas

A new study published in the journal Nature Sustainability shows that intensifying wildfires and human settlement expansion have placed more people and infrastructure in Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) areas at risk, requiring that effective wildfire management and policy response are needed to protect ecosystems and residential communities.
