Greenhouse gas emission impact from peatland fires underestimated by 200%-300%, shows new study
Researchers at Frontiers in Climate disclosed that wildfires in Brazil and Indonesia, mainly set for land clearance, accounted for 3% and 7%, respectively, of the planet’s total greenhouse gas emissions in 2019 and 2020.
