The wildfire crisis: underlying barriers that impede mitigation
A retired U.S. Forest Service National Director of Fire and Aviation Management provided some insight on how to better deal with the current wildfire crisis by organizing, staffing, and funding for the scale of mitigation work needed to prevent fires, much like the wildfire emergency response that is now organized, staffed, and funded to extinguish them.
